    Wink Hummingbird Feeding

Hummingbirds are like golfballs. You tell them what to do and they don't listen. This little guy,at first looked like a small flying shrimp.Being from Ohio,I haven't been able to see many Hummingbirds. This little guy spent about 15-20 mins.flying around this bush.I must of shot almost 40-50 shots to get about 10 good ones.Enjoy,Rich

I think it's a moth. We have one in Fl. that is about the size of a hummingbird. The reason I say moth is because it has antennae. Birds don't.

Good catch,You are correct. It is not a hummingbird. It is a Clear Wing Moth,Like I said,I did not know that a moth could fly around like a Hummingbird. You learn something new everyday.Thank You for the correction,Rich

It is a common clear wing but the other name is the Humming Bird moth. I live these guys they flit around the lantana in the early evening looking quite like mini hummingbirds.

You sure got some good photos of this little guy Rich. The wings are almost invisible in motion--just as a hummingbird's are. Cool!

Wow!! Imagine how much energy they need to beat their wings like that...no wonder all these plants produce nectar for them! They rely on each other

Very cool photos, Rich. I've only seen the hummingbird moth once. I love the second picture where the wings look like they have a hole in them.
