Tess, what a surprise. Who gets to feed them? Great looking children too! Kifr has got to see this. He likes snakes and tarantulas.

I love that 2nd picture of the python (carpet, right?) with his tongue sticking out like he's teasing me! And that dog is just hilarious! I love his expression.

Styx, you know what's funny? We didn't know anything about ball python "morphs" when we got our snakes. We just looked at their colors and thought, hey, that looks cool... So yeah, coincidentally, the pastel is female and the spider is male, so they could potentially have babies - and quite possibly a bumblebee which I saw was super pretty! But, I don't think we're going to breed these guys. We have a lot of snakes already and I heard they can get up to 8 eggs! I don't think I can take care of 8 more snakes. Our reptile vet told me there's no good way to neuter the snake, so we just have to make sure they don't end up next to each other in the winter time.

Oh, and as far as I know these guys don't eat! No, I can't watch them eat... the hubby feeds them. I just decorate and clean cages and check temps and such.

Nice herps & vivs! If they didn't get as big as they do, I'd have one.

Orchid Killer - Yep, she's a jungle. Her yellow is actually much more vivid than the photo shows. Can't seem to get photo of her true colors.

Wow, a very nice collection of snakes. Do they like to mingle together when you take them out of their cage for a slither? Also, is the hognose as docile and friendly as the Ball Pythons?

They don't mind each other when they're out together. But, we try to keep them separated even at play only because one female is much bigger than the other female and then the other one is a male which we don't want to accidentally breed.

The hognose is a funny creature. The ball pythons just curl up when we pick them up. The hognose goes through several stages of defensive plays it is quite funny to watch. First he hisses and raises up his head like a cobra. The hiss sounds like a rattlesnake! And he shakes his tail too! Then if you insist on picking him up, he would strike at you! But, always with his mouth closed and just hitting the air around your hand - sometimes he bumps you with his pointy nose. If you're not used to it, it gets kinda scary! But, he NEVER bites for defense. He only bites to eat! So, we just go ahead and pick him up anyway and he immediately settles down. Anyway, hognoses usually play dead (lying stretched out, belly-side up, tongue lolling) when they get scared, but my hognose hasn't done that. We've had him since Christmas, so after a few days, he learned we're safe to be with so he doesn't hiss anymore when we pick him up. Now, he just hisses at the food.
