OMG - she's so cute. She's either a chinchilla or an edible doormouse (no joke, ancient romans used to keep them in jars for snacks!)

If Chincilla, then don't let her see my sporran (the furry purse in the picture on the right: http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...13911#poststop) It could be a brother or sister!

actually, she was a gift for me, as I fell in love with her at the same pet store where we got our guinea pig. Her fur is so soft it feels like you're petting slightly thick air.

    Prem,

You're absolutely right! They're so soft and silky. I'll be piping for some wedding or party or whatever, sitting...waiting for my go...and absently stroking the sporran on my lap like it's one of my cats. Then I think what this must look like to those around me and I freeze, blush and, well, I haven't yet run from the room, but I've been tempted!

Should you ever hear a bagpipe in the distance, HIDE LUCY!!

    Julie

PS - I've warned my cats that if they scratch the Tibetan rug again...well, they'd make lovely sporrans...
