Yummy! I have wanted to try to grow strawberries. We have wild ones that grow here, so I think I could grow them. Thanks for sharing the photos.

    Cheers,
    BD

I love growing strawberries. I have at least 3 different varieties...one flowers pink before setting the fruit. They prefer cooler weather though no frost or summer heat. I probably have about 12+ plants growing now. I will take pics to post of them later, no fruit yet but they are starting to flower.

Dana, is the second photo a gooseberry? Or a Chinese Lantern?

I bought a strawberry plant on sale for a dollar -
in a coco coir pot - kept it outside but then was drying up.

now inside under a light is growing new leaves.
any advice how to grow it potted? does it require dormancy?

I have some seeds of wild alpine strawberries in the fridge before sowing them in a few weeks...

I do not think the alkekengi is poisonous - I think I ate many in the years dipped in chocolate - really nice tart flavor... great treat
