Yeah, Louis...you know the old adage:

If you give an iguana cinnamon, he'll want a slice of french toast...

    Julie's feeling better!

And Valerie, "neat" and "spiders" don't EVER go together in my dictionary. I like the lizards to do their job so I don't ever have to see those creeping hairy creatures!

I'm talking spiders, not anything else so just get those other things out of your minds, those who like to make small-lettered comments.

Julie, I don't think I've ever heard that adage--must be a northeastern thing. Whenever I gave my iguana cinnamon, it wanted a latte.

    RS,
    what kinds of other things?

Talking lizards & spiders, oh my!

I finally saw my green anole this week! Plus, caught this nocturnal spider spinning her web to catch all those nasty nighttime insects When I think of "neat" spiders, I usually think of banana spiders. I have a pic of one somewhere, I'll post it when I find it

Thanks for the pics, Valerie! It's good to periodically remind us that's there's more wild life beyond ourselves (in our dreams...)

very cool! he is immature probably about 7-8 years old. 12-14 inches long?
if you see any smaller ones you will know that you have an actively breeding population. they like to lay their eggs in larger plant containers. i have a banana tree in a 24in. container in my back yard. last year i found one hatched egg and one unhatched egg. they are playable and about the size as a marble. when i opened up the unhatched egg i saw that it had died. (it probably got too hot and cooked.) not all of the organs had fully formed.
