Cool Green & Black Snake !!

I was on my balcony the other day, tending to my chids. The squirrels were squawking up a storm.I thought that there might be a stray cat in some bushes below.I started to look around from the second floor and saw this 3 - 3 1/2 foot green & black snake.I thought it was a pretty cool lookin snake.I have to admit that I'm much into snakes. My girl friend was freaking out.I told her,if you stay upstairs she'd be okay.Welcome to Florida !! Enjoy,Rich

Golleeee .... he errr she does have a toughie look in the eyes specially on the second photograph. That's probably what freaked out the 'lil squirrels around. LOL!

A garter snake, a member of colubrid snake family.

Passes by to look over for a meal like mice or small bird chicks.

Garter snakes are oviviparous, meaning they give birth to live young. Gestation is two to three months in most species. As few as 3 or as many as 80 snakes are born in a single litter. The young are independent upon birth.

Nice little garter snake . You'd faint at my place with our carpet python and two boas!
