    Default While I was sailing...

...I had a few opportunities to do some shots and I do hope that some of them will be interesting for you to:
playing with the dolphins - who is faster

    watching fishermen at their work:

    watching the sunsets

morning walk along the beach or climbing the nearby hill in search of good view

I was watching for a while this "birdy" but just after the closer inspection I realized that what I was seeing was a hummingbird moth and not a hummingbird as I thought. Is a real challenge for the photographer as it is not stand on one place more than one second:

    Iphiclides podalirius

    Limenitis reducta

    Polygonia egea

    bumblebee

    young swallows

    gull

    dragonfly

    sailed past the islands

    remains of sunken ship

promises to be a storm, the safest nights in the marina

Trachinus draco is one of the most poisened fish in Mediteranean sea. On the back has 3 spines and one on each gills. Injuries are extremely painful and require prompt treatment - very hot water being effective, although not always completely - speaking from my own experience

Beautiful photos Branka, as always. The sunsets are fabulous. My favourites are the Beautiful Damoiselle Damselfly and the Hummingbird Moth. Home also looks like a lovely place.

Beautiful shots Branka. You live in such a beautiful place. Love all the photos and really admire you for capturing a photo of the humming-bird moth. You even managed to capture the proboscis dipping into the lantana blooms! Here we call it a hawk moth. I tried to photograph it once when it visited my garden but all I got was a blur. They really are superfast. Thanks for sharing .

Wow! Branka, your photography is stunning! The first red sunset is awesome. Love the butterfly pics, and the seagull photo is outstanding. Thanks for sharing!
Were you sailing on your own boat? You live in a lovely place.

Beautiful pics, Branka! Like Steve, I think the damselfly and the hummingbird moth are my favorites.

Last summer I saw a hummingbird moth for the first time -- like you, I originally mistook it for a hummingbird untl I got a bit closer.

Tnx guys for all your nice replies, especially tnx to you Steve, you did ID the dragonfly - Beautiful Damoiselle Damselfly, what a prety name!
    Tami - it's friend's boat, not mine.
It's only a pitty that there are no sea's orchids, otherwise this trip would be perfect
