Our school was one of those invited to watch the show over at our local Philippine Air Force Base then.

If my memory serves me right, isn't Pensacola synonymous with oranges?
That must have been quite a show! Every show is a bit different and every year they change the routine. They used to woo you into a trance with a lazy high loop and then one of the solo pilots would zoom from behind right over your head at 700mph - you could see the sonic shock wave forming but they didn't quiet hit the speed of sound. Now both solos blast right over you just a second apart. Lot of wet pants after that manuever.......
Not sure about the orange ref. We have some trees here but most of the groves are in south FL. Pens. is in the panhandle near the AL state line.

Thanks all for enjoying the photos. Tami

Jojo, when they converted the base, the Navy deconstructed the Cubi Bar and brought it to the Naval Aviation Station here in Pensacola and reconstructed it in the museum as the Cubi Bar and Cafe. Cool place!

Hey, Cin! We are looking forward to the visit too!

Amazing shots Tami, the jets brought some childhood memories... I remember when I
was a kid my father would drag me to Manila Bay to watch them do some Aerial
Exhibitions and sometimes they do parachuting event... we always (kids) chase them
as soon as they touch ground and ask for candies hehehe. Twas a regular event back
    then. Those were the days.

Now, all grown up I work in Clark Airbase (not much of an Airbase anymore), when the USAF
are here you'll know as the sonic boom generated by their jets are hard to miss, and sometimes
its nice to see them do some mock dogfights. Aside from that, everything is so boring around
here, one of the reasons why we got into this hobby.

I like the second-it certainly is a different flavour compared to the thunder and hail we have had for the past two weeks! The Blue angels (never heard of them to be honest) look stunning, but the best i have ever seen with my own two eyes are the Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets i saw at the whenuapai air show 2009. ps i have obly ever seen these once and it is the only time i have ever seen fighter jets in action! if you want to invade NZ, feel free because the only airforce we have is a couple of hercs, some orians and a few iroquoi helicopters =)
