    Rob

    You're right.

Although I don't have rabbits squirrels always eat my tulips. They just chew the heads right off. They never touch these things.

Newbie - I was thinking about your situation today. Sorry

    Default Morell mushrooms

These are very sought after mushrooms, that appear in early spring after a rain followed by warm days . We usually see the blood root flower(or anenome as I call them) at the same time. We find them growing in poplar tree forests. They are shaped like Christmas trees ,and in the leaf litter are VERY hard to see. We roll them in corn meal and saute, and they do taste like fried fish !
On this link they sell for $120.00 per dried lb.!!! There is a picture of them here, also.

'dem der dry land fish is also a biggin deal here in Minnesota and Wisconsin, not just down der where y'alls at in the south! I have friends who'd a risk a der life for dese tings. Ok, just kidding with the drawl, I'm not looking to restart a civil war 'tween da north and da south, but wanted to mention I've heard that term up here too.
For the record, they are VERY tasty.

    MDE, ME without the D.

PS - Kev, great spring flower shots, thanks for posting them.
