Default Tiny, tiny flower & plant

    Sinningia Rio das Pedras

Got these seed from a friend. This is the first flower. Just so I don't give you guys the wrong impression or anythng, I don't collect little teacups and stuff like that. I actually hate "cute", but these are soooooo cool.

    (that's a 2 1/2 inch pot)

    I get it, Kev.

I don't do tiny tea cups either, but I have one tiny little miniature. I can't imagine how microscopic its flowers will be, but it's cool to have something to contrast all the other Brobdingnagian giants...

I bet there is a Jungian psychologist out there who has published a theory about people who have a fetish for tiny flowers. I will not speculate that theory in this family oriented forum.

Kev- I'm relieved you do not have a thing for tiny teacups.

Oh, and to stay on topic, cool pic. and great flower structure. Wonder what insect pollinates the little bugger?

    Matt,

I guess I'm not into all tiny flowers, but this is just such a cool looking plant. The foliage is really beautiful.

I also wonder what pollinates these tiny things. I have a Platystele just starting to bloom now. The flowers are only a few mm wide. I'm going to try to photograph that one, but it will be a challenge.

This thread's topic is quickly becoming: size doesn't count. (Breathe easier guys - us girls have known that for a long time!)

That is really neat, Kev. I don't collect frufru teacups, either, but I do love little plants. Do you grow this like haerella odorata?

I've been growing it in my basement with my seedling stuff so far. I think it will need a bit more light than the Haraella, but I'm not sure yet.
