Bruce and Kathi; I also know what it is to loose a cat companion and friend of many years. I lost a old female kitty at about 19 years of age. She was a very sweet cat who loved people. She was also a expert mouser! Miss her still. AL

I know, I miss mine still. My cats were NEVER mousers. They were taken from their mom too young to learn any skills. But, the male had some vague idea that he should hunt and bring me his "kills". These included a spool of thread and similar inanimate objects. My favorite though was when he VERY proudly brought me a small snake, flat as a pancake, and complete with tire tracks. He dropped it at my feet, and then sat back, practically puffing out his chest with pride!!!

Kathi; I know what you are talking about. Cats not only have a sense of humor, but they can have wild imaginations too! That cat of yours may not of caught that snake himself, but I can picture his pride as the 'mighty hunter'.
