Default Hanging Out With Vanda Mimi Palmer

This little green anole is sitting trying to warm up to start his day. I have these guys running all through my orchids, from tiny babies to big males with the brilliant orange throat pieces.

Jason, I'm not scared of these guys. All though, I don't want them on me. I am deathly afraid of those nasty cuban tree frogs. They scare the bejeezus out of me.
It takes me forever to spray pesticides and fungicides because of these little green lizards. I don't want to poison them. I have to try and look all over the plant to make sure they are not in the folds of a vanda leaf.
I'm not much on amphibians so I understand not getting your daughter a chameleon This is just Florida...we have all kinds of creepy things at out doorstep!

I love the green ones! We have tons of babies too, although our seem to be more of the brown ones. I am not fond of the cuban tree frogs either. I had one jump on my face off a tree once and it scared me to death.

I spray a bunch of stuff and I don't know that it bothers them but I wouldn't spray one directly either.

Hahaha.... Pat, I agree! I had a snake fall out of a cattleya pot about a foot in front of my face. Almost had a heart attack - I swear!! (there is a thread on here with photos too! hahaha)

I like the little lizzards (anoles). I wish we had more of them here to eat the bugs.

    cheers,
    BD

I'm really careful about grabbing pots that are hanging.
Bruce, I would have had a heart attack right along with you!

I have a friend that has a greenhouse up in MO. When they were down here he took 3 back with him and turned them loose in his GH. They love them and buy mealworms for them. They survived the frigid midwest

They do become sort of tame...and don't run away when you get close to them.

haha... take a look at this thread: A Snake in my Greenhouse. I still get jumpy when I see the photos and relive the event in my mind.

    cheers,
