Default Little Rock Arkansas State Capitol

Yesterday LJA and I were down in Little Rock at the state capitol. Louis went before the Arkansas Board of Counselors for his Licensing Oral Exam. He has worked for the last five years going to graduate school and holding a full time job. Finally everything came together and he was able to sit for his oral exam before the board. I was able to sit in on the hearing and observe the questioning and outcome. He did a great job and will get his License number in about 12 days. He Is a CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) and now has his LAC (Liscense Associate Counselor). So happy for him. He is not on the forum here much, but does help with the server management, etc.., But I thought that everyone should hear that his hard work is finally paying off for him.

Anyway, here are some shots since I had my camera handy:

First, this is the State Capitol of Arkansas as we approached in the truck.

    Default lots of pretty flowers....

We got there about 20 minutes before the doors were open (10:00 am). So, we walked all the way around the outside of the building. Lots of pretty landscaping. The day was cloudy and sprinkled on and off all morning, so the light is a bit dark. Still really pretty.

This is a shot from the back side of the building.

He's been finished with course work for the last year. He had to live in Hot Springs, AR for several months while he completed his residency/internship at the Arkansas Rehabilitation Hospital. After he completed that, he was able to apply for and finally take his written exams. That took a few months to get the results. Once that was done, he had to pass the FBI background check and then apply to take the oral exams. Once approved, it took another couple months before they could schedule him to sit for the exam. (A lot of hurry up and wait. LOL). But now, he is finally over the major hurdles. Next, he has to have 3000 hours of supervision. He hopes to complete most of that at the university where we both work. Currently, he is the Counselor in the Student Support Services Center. Not sure how long he will stay there now that he has his L.A.C. Many more job opportunities open up for him with that license.

    Thanks for all the support!

    cheers,
    BD
