    Default A ruffled bloom...(lily)

Ok, don't shoot the photographer, but here is another lily from our flower bed. I planted these last year after growing them in a pots for a year. The name of the plant is SUSAN B....something. The tag is washed off now. Anyway, they are very stiff, both foliage and flower. Very thick too.

Here is a couple of shots.

    Cheers!

Very nice lily there. Of course I am slightly partial to orange shades. I guess since you've opened the door, so to speak, I can post some pictures of some of my lilies. Since they are ephemeral, it will take a day or two to get shots of all the varieties.....

    Nice color.

Too bad these aren't Bulbs, Rhizomes or Tubers, but rather just clump forming perennials.

I am not sure how long these blooms will last. They were in bloom last year, but were very small. This year in the ground they really look great! We'll see how long they last!

I look forward to seeing your blooms!

    Cheers!

It's my fault that this was posted in the club. I thought when we bought these already sprouted that they had been grown from bulbs. The plants had been transplanted rootball and earth, so we never got to see what they actually were.

Oh my gosh!!!! Clump forming perennials!!! Run for your lives everyone!

    - I guess we need a Clump Forming Perennials club. I'll volunteer to run it, along with LeClub Parfumerie for sweet smelling Floofs. giggle, giggle giggle.

BTW per the American Hemerocallis Society
Roots The roots of a daylily are long, slender, and fibrous. Or, they may be enlarged into spindle-shaped tubers with additional roots at their bases. The roots absorb water and minerals for use by the plant, and serve as storehouses for food produced by the leaves.

I was just making a point here - not being a brat or anything.

If I had posted a picture of a Phal in the Catt section or made a completely dumb comment about an orchid, I could expect any number of folk to respond very quickly pointing out my error. Right?

    So be it here.
