I know you folks in NZ are setting on a hotbed of activity. It is all very interesting but deadly. They always say not "if" but "when" !
Jordy, I bet you can google that show and watch it. I think it was Nova that had it on one of my local PBS stations. They normally have them online to watch - full length
I have seen so many of those shows, that you would be living in your closet by now

Im just waiting for Lyttleton Harbour to blow, google earth that, it is a large volcanic caldera. If it goes, i reckon Christchurch has about 5-10 seconds from eruption to total destruction. You will see why that is when you google earth it. Also note, that a huge amount of tremors have occured directly underneath the harbour.....

    Ok:

About 10 minutes to the east, there is an area called Tauhei, the hills around there are the remnants of a volcano, about 20mins south, there is Mt Maungatautari, an old, possibly extinct volcano, and about 20mins west, is Maungatautari's sister, Pirongia. Then, between the two, about 25mins south west, is Mt Kakepuku, a small cone. If you then travel about 40mins west to the coast, Mt Kariori dominates the horizon, and its visible from Hamilton too, just the top. It is about as high as Pirongia is. An hour north is a huge volcanic field, also known as Auckland City. Great place for the country's largest city isnt it?

Cathy, when you went to see Multnomah Fall, did you try the ice cream? That is the MUST HAVE item there. I have seen it so many times, I sometime just go there to eat an ice cream. Lol.

By the way, you were so lucky to have visited the PNW last week. Had it been this week, you would have had to deal with nasty snowy & icy roads.
