    Default Critters Anyone?

Well since Matt posted his cute little kitties, I thought we all could share our other love(s) other than orchids. My babies are Lucy (pitbull) and Zane (rottie). These pics were taken on our dock, and they were practicing their poses. Hope to see everone else's critters.

Tracy - Love the dogs, such Hams! Though I must admit, the pit bull makes me a little nervous...

Sue - what a great face on that cat! Just makes you want to rub his tummy!

And Gin What species is your Parrot? I don't think I've ever seen that color combination before...

And here is my Daffy (Kattomer's Daffodil of Springtime) Sorry about the devil eyes...

Zane and Lucy - Very jealous of your beautiful lake and swimming dock!
    Wallace - Great pose!
Simon - I want to know what species you are too. Absolutely amazing colors!
And Daffy, well you already know how I feel about you from a posting elsewhere on this forum! Gorgeous, and very nice Corpse Pose you're in there!

Well... it's so hard to believe, but I am down to these two loves. At the maximum (for MANY years) I had 5 cats and 3 big dogs. But, thankfully, these two are still with me Lucy, the cat, is looking particularly pissed. She did not want her close-up picture taken. August (my dog) is a big ham. Man I love these two so much...

I'm with you Gin! I worked at U. of Penn's big Vet. Hosp. for 8 years and you would not believe how cruel people are; you would believe it... Of all the animals I have had, the only one I went to a breeder and got was August, the others were strays. I better stop too, I get into this rant so easily.

Jenn, know what you mean , I worked for a Vet. in Ca. then in Mo. worked Temp. for an animal shelter , at the end of 2 weeks I had 8 dogs lol . Had them fixed and did find homes for them . Can't put a healthy animal to sleep ....sleep ...Hell ! kill is the word .
Right now I help an animal rescue find homes for unwanted birds .
Not long ago a lady had an African Grey a Yellow Nape Amazon and a Blue and Gold Macaw for 13 years and decided she did not want them anymore .Oh OOO Rant ! G

All three of my cats are rescue too, including the recessive gene (but purebreed) LaPerms. Apparently there is a breeder with no concern other than money who lets the recessive kittens loose if there is not a home because they "can't be sold" as purebreed! Duh! So my mom, who rescues cats and is on her own personal mission to sterilize every feral cat in a tri-county radius in central Iowa, who has 16 cats of her own, takes these LaPerm "rejects" and finds them homes. Imagine that two of them ended up at my place! She has one of them too. And has found homes for 4 others over the last 2 years.
I also worked in the Humane Society world for 3 years in Madison, WI. Saw a LOT of crazy disheartening stuff. Unfortunately most of the world's population is anthropocentric, rooted entirely in the ego. ALL other life forms are disposable to this viewpoint.
Anyway, that's my position on the issue, one of I'm sure hundreds.

Now, back to the thread. Love the angry pic. of Lucy, Jenn! That is a classic cat photo! Recognized August from your avatar, right?

Keep 'em coming on the Orchids turned Pets forum!
