22 years for the main period with about 2.000 workers.

In fact, this castle, designed by an italian architect (inspired by Leonardo da Vinci ?), is a "hunting lodge", the king François being here only 72 days during his reign !

@ Bill : Chambord is close to the city of Blois (beautiful castle too). There is a highway from Paris to Blois (about 180km). Once in Chambord, you have lot of other beautiful castles to see in this region (Cheverny, Villandry, Langeais, Azay-Le Rideau, Chenonceaux, Amboise and so on). This THE castle area of France. There is also Leonardo da Vinci's Castle (Le Clos Lucé) near Amboise.

    Thank you all.
