Default 1% - No, I am not talking politics. I'm talking humidity.

Right now it is 45F with 1% humidity outside. 74F and 16% indoors among the orchids in my living room.

I have seen as low as 3% since I have lived here but never 1%. This is what we in Colorado are up against growing anything.

Only 30% here..and that's a low reading for this time of night. Must be all that air from Canada.

40%+ and 50F here in Hong Kong. It's almost the lowest of the year, and in spring -summer, the average is 80%. What a difference, Harvey ?

    You bet.

I grew up on east coast of the US and it is humid there. Personally, I didn't like living in the high humidity myself but I didn't grow orchids then either. Maybe I would have appreciated the humidity if I had.

Me too didn't like living in the high humidity, especially during spring time you have to switch on the dehumidifer round the clock.

quick! put on socks, rub feet on the carpet while holding a balloon, touch sister with balloon. orchids might not like it but it's great for zapping your sister.

The only thing I feel lucky about living in St.Andrews is the humidity levels, according to BBC the humidity is 81%.

Desert prairie... gotta love it. Had to temporarily reopen the vents on the greenhouse for the days it was 50 degrees or warmer. it was 100+ in the greenhouse. Now it's snowing again and supposed to drop to 12-14 degrees... sigh.
