This special breed of cat is wonderful. They are so sweet and gentle. Gentle Giants they are. We really love our Bubba Boy. I rescued him about 15 years ago when we were living in South Florida. He was already about 3 years or so old. It was Love at first sight for both of us.

I am starting to wonder if mine isn't a variation of this breed. I always call Loki my miniature Bobcat because of his size. He even scares a few of my friends sometimes because of how large he is and likes to jump up on people like a dog eager to be petted. I will take a pic when I get home to post tomarrow .

We have 4 cats and 2 med/large dogs. Fortunately they all get along very well. My English Setter is very kind and gentle with the cats (like everything else she comes into contact with, except the occasional old book).

Our Collie is a very high energy young working bred Collie, however she was raised with cats and is also a very good dog that does try to please. All she wants is for the cats to play with her and they do! (Just ask her!) What she does is to bring her favorite green rubber ball and carefully set it down in front of the big black boss cat, Spud. He will lay there and, if he moves, its game on! She's like "He's playing with me!!" and will snatch up the ball and run twice around the house an do it again. Always good for a laugh.

Now Spud does sometimes play with one of the dogs.... If they are dragging a leash or sleeping and twitch a tail in front of him, he will reach out and give it a gentle smack. They rarely notice, he thinks he's pretty cool. Spud is enormous, he was a barn cat for the first three years of his life, he moved in with our horse and kept her company and bossed her around, then we lost her and he moved home with us. He needs to lose a little weight, but can't really diet him when the four cats share a food dish, he's boss and they'd go hungry.

Skinny is our Oriental Shorthair. She quite exotic and I find her beautiful. She's a little shy and went deaf a couple of years ago, but she's pretty sweet. Shadow is her nephew (half breed), the sweetest cat ever, he loves everybody equally, including the two dogs. He follows them outside and back in and to bed at night. He gives me cuddles as well as my 89 yr old MIL, whom he seems to realize likes the attention. He will help her read for hours, sleeping in her lap. Whiskers is really her cat, but has taken to me, since I feed her. She's small, black and white and has med length hair. She's playful, cuddly, silly and very cute.

I'm very happy to have them all. Here's a couple of pictures - one of Jet (the setter) and Tango (the smooth collie) taking a nap together and one of Skinny. I'll see about resizing or taking pictures of the other cats later.

Carol- I need a cat like that. Looks like less shedding at least with the cat, lol. Now the dogs probably make up for it . Okay, it was not easy but after about 8 different attempts to settle him down a minute this was the best I can do. To help with distiguishing his size keep in mind he is laying on your average sized cofee table and laying down, not stretched out, he is almost 1/2 its length. The next one shows how far up on me when he is sitting down, granted I am a tall 5'0. I'm the one in the Grumpy Bear t-shirt .

As for all the confetti lets just say both me and my cats are happy with new arrivals. Me for the orchid and them because they get to shred the boxes the orchids come in.

    Hi Carol and Kim,
Not only do I love Orchids, I love all animals just as much. I have 3 cats and 2 cockatiels. I have my old Bubba Boy, then Mr. Biggs who is a rescued tuxedo cat, and my baby who is 4 years and I rescued her from deaths door. I love them all so much. My baby does not meow, she squeaks. She is a happy and loving baby girl.Name: HPIM0725.JPG
