Yes, only plant damage for me.

I have been able to replace the tomatoes lost. I won't plant them until tomorrow after work. We still have a chance of hail/thunderstorms today. Tomorrow 82 F.

I'll have to buy my lettuce and spinach from the grocery. Some lettuce had only just sprouted, if they survived, they might be my late spring crop.

Too bad you did not have a clean pail out and a supply of fruit flavored syrup or the drink mixin's of your choice. Could have make yourself snow cones or hosted a party.

On a more serious note ... too bad about your garden though at least the orchids are safe. Hail can sure do an impressive amount of damage. Had a friend with a huge assortment of hosta (well over 40 different types) get hit with a big hail storm. The hosta were completely shredded. A sad, sad sight.

I did post my concern back during the winter about hail. Anytime the 'h' word is used by the weather guessers, I do bring the orchids in from outside during the work day. If I am at home, then I can leave them out until a storm is imminent.

Colorado is the most hail prone area I know of. I know of no other place that snow plows are called out to clear the hail from the roads like it happens here. Certainly not every hail storm requires plows but often enough.

The buckets have any lettuce that may have survived the hail.
