    Default Galah cockatoos

So Gin, Julie, and other interested parties, here are some pictures of Galah Cockatoos.... I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Galah - which according to my bird guide means a bit of a clumsy klutz.

As you will see they are hard to find

Wow - great shot in flight!

So give a brief blurb on cockatoos. You said one variety was as common as crows. Yet these guys are hard to find. I don't know much about cocks... well, whatever...

    $3000 ?????

From what I can tell, in the areas where they are found, they ARE considered pests! They were everywhere... and hilarious to watch because they are kinda clumsy. My bird guide said that they are still collected from the wild here, but because of PBFD, most people buy ones bred in aviaries. Those go for around AU$300. (thats about US$230)

The problem with them in confinment is they are prone to fatty tumors on the chest , there is a special low fat diet made for them .. Wish OZ would expot thier pests ! They could be tested for PBFB, and the other nasties . Gin
