Default The story of Marble the cat

For a cat to have kittens in no miracle, but this particular mama cat has a tragic story. Her owner, my neighbor, seriously neglected and abused her to the point of beating her while carrying her first litter so she would miscarry which she did. So malnourished, sick and scared she came to us and we fed her, treated her wounds and little by little she adopted us. Last summer and winter she spend in my gardens catching mice, lizards and even a small snake, giving each of us from time to time little wiggling presents (as a mama cat would give her kittens). This spring she decided to have her second litter in our veranda, in plain view not caring if we saw are even touch her new babies. I am always humbled by the amount of trust our pets put into us, especially this cat who was mistreated so badly by another human being.
So here is Marble and her litter
