    Default New bird sighting

Saw a pair of black-hooded parakeets out front at the feeder this morning!!!
Very Cool Although I don't know why they're called parakeets, they're as
    big as parrots....
First time I've seen them, so I hope they decide to return.
My usual visitors are cardinals, bluejays, Monk Parakeets(Quaker parrots), 3 kinds of doves, all sorts of blackbirds, mockingbirds, woodpeckers & ibis'.

Oh I am jealous .. they are beautiful , the reason they are classified as Parakeets is because they have a long tail .
I have an Alexanderine he is a Ringneck type also called a Parakeet . Thanks for sharing the beautiful pict. Gin

Cool! I think that's a Nanday Conure. I had one as a pet when I was a kid. They are NOISY birds!
