    Default Malong for festivals

The following three photos are examples of the very best malong with indigenous designs. I bought quite a number of them as presents for my womenfolk, when I got to travel to other lands.

Because the ones here are made from the finest materials, they are worn only during important festivals, in contrast to ordinary malong.

    Which one would you wear?

The fabrics are sumptuous, Nelson! Are they a silk weave? What does malong mean? And is it worn as a wrapped garment?

    Lucky womenfolk!

Default I think the fabrics are partly silk but I am not too sure of that.

Malong is a wraparound. In the Muslim areas of Southeast Asia even men wear malong. I don't know whether men wear malong of the same fabric or design as those of women, though.

I like the silvery one the best. I bought a couple of those (cheaper ones, of course) when I was in Thailand, I have no idea where they are now. Not nearly as lovely as those!
