Thank you for the pics. Willem loves the pics and wants to know the turtle's name. What type of turtle is it? It looks very healthy and well adjusted. How old is it?

That is a HUGE weeping willow in the third pic, it sure does make the children look very small.

You may not want to pass this story on, but we first bought itty bitty baby turtles in Florida - brought them home for my kids for valentine's day. We knew nothing and the street vendor told us they would be happy in their tiny plastic container with some pellets. Turns out they need heated water and basking lights and a place to swim and..... both died long sad deaths. I spent days crying over the first.
You can tell him the turtle's name - we had Sloey B'doey (my son was 4 and that was the name he gave him) and that one was Gingersnap. They were Red Eared Sliders. They were just a few months old
Now we have Sonic (from the video game / comic books) and his pal Amy. Sonic is a Yellow Bellied Cooter and about 6 months old. Amy is a Painted turtle - she was passed on to us from another home. She was caught in the wild in Canada and kept as a pet by them, but she started picking fights with her tankmates so we gave her a try. So far so good. She's probably a couple of years old.

I LOVE Weeping Willow trees. This is the biggest one I have seen. My daughter asked one day (after visiting our local exotic pet store) if they could play in the tree...

It was only 9PM here )we're in the central time zone, but he went off to bed right after seeing your pics. He'll see your above posting tomorrow. I've had turles as pets before; they're interesting and a lot of fun. Well, it's now 10PM here and it's my bedtime so goodnight everyone
