Go to the first post in this thread and look at his avatar (pavel). That is a picture of Peanut, our favorite forum lizard. Somewhere in all these posts is a description of what, exactly, peanut is...

Another lovely thread about snakes and little geckos! Even tho' Peanut and I were never formally introduced, I feel like I know him well!

    The corn snakes are beautiful!
I love the colors and pattern.
You were lucky to have him visit for a photoshoot.

I used to raise and breed lots of snakes: gray band, ball pythons, sinaloan milks. I also had lots of lizards: chameleons (veiled and jackons), leopard geckos, bearded dragons, rankins dragons. Lots of babies from them too.

I think the funniest thing I ever saw was watching a baby cham learning to eat little crickets. They would shoot their tounge out and if they hit the cricket ZAP right on in. But if they missed the tounge would stick to the bottom of the cage and they would pull themselves forward. What a riot.

Here are a couple of pics. One is a clearer pic of a baby Veiled Cham. The second is a bit fuzzy but gives you an idea of the size of a fairly new baby.

Oh, I can't help it. Here is a Jackon's baby too.
This made me realize just how much I miss having chameleons!! I had a pair of Fischer's that lived in my bedroom on a large plant hanging from my ceiling. It was so much fun getting to feed them everyday!! They'd go to the lowest leaves and I'd just hold out crickets and *ZAP*.
I also used to have some pygmy chameleons when I had my large terrarium with various frogs and lizards.
    I miss them

Haven't seen any snakes in my orchids lately but we did have a lovely corn snake in the grill the other night. Had to ask it to leave so we could cook dinner.
