The pictures are beautiful in a haunting way - and so are satellite hurricane images. I'm with Cin; at least you can flee or hunker down in a hurricane. Fire is terrifying and sneaky. I wouldn't even let Darwin light a fire in our fireplace until we had screens and doors installed, and I still cannot sleep until the fire has died out.
Hope you all are safe from the wildfires.

Wild fire is scary enough. Try living in a neighborhood with an arsonist on the loose!!!

We have had 6 or 7 fires within a couple miles of our home and two within a couple hundred yards. One was last summer just up the road that burned about an acre and got near our neighbors home. The latest was TWO NIGHTS ago. Another neighbor saw a white car stop, someone get out and back in their car. Moments later there were 3 foot flames shooting into the air. This was on our side of the road but in front of another neighbors field immediately adjacent to our property line.

A fire truck, an ambulance and several peace officers came and investigated. Apparently they know WHO the person is, WHERE the person lives and WHERE he is getting the supplies to light the fires. Even though they have credit card receipts showing the purchase of the materials he for sure us using, they say they CANNOT arrest him because there is no one that can definately point a finger at him and say HE did it and I saw him.
