Kerry, maybe you and I should visit. I'll distract her - you stuff the teddy bears!

Or we could ALL move to SW Florida! Could water each other's orchids when we're out of town. What a great idea!

Come on down Y'all we love company!!! I went out this evening and saw a 42" rat snake on the patio. Made Mr Hicks do the YIKES two step. I think that the rain brought them out. He was a beauty, I followed him around the house and gave him the rules, Rats and mice only with an occaisional squirrel but no birds or lizards. I don't think that he was listening, LOL.

Holy cow!! I would've absolutely screamed if this guy had been slithering around in my plants!!! A mini-heart attack for sure!!

Funny though, when I go see my dad in Ft. Lauderdale, he has this GIANT iguanas that lay around the grounds of the place, and they don't scare me too much...what is it about snakes, anways??

Looks like you have a great orchid set-up there!! You should show some more pictures!! I'd like to see it.

I don't think I would want snakes in my orchids. I would have a heart-attack for sure if I stuck my nose up to get a whiff of a fragrant cattleya and saw the image that last photo, Cin.

    Cheers,
    BD

The Pied Piper refers to a plague of rats?? I don't think any snake population would keep up with a plague. Anyway, I THINK (not totally sure) that we have about three native snakes. The Smooth Snake, Grass Snake (biggest - up to 1metre) and the Adder (only poisonous one) British nature lesson over.
