    Default Eastern Ribbon Snake

I went out this AM to check the orchids after our lovely rain yesterday and this guy was checking them out too !!! He rather liked having his picture taken and even posed for the camera.

Those pictures are really cool---what a great environment! (I don't know how cool I would think it was to find him in real life though...I'm a little snake squeamish)

He most certainly did pose! Great pics, Cin! I looked all through the first pic and figured he wasn't there, then when I went back, it was as if a p-bulb had shape-shifted into a snake, LOL! He is a bit of a ham!

Watch out, Peanut - Cin has a handsome reptile...

The snake looks like he's checking you out in the last photo! Very cute.

I think I would have squealed if I had walked out and found a snake.

Maybe not, I am getting quite good at not reacting like a right girl whenever a safety seeking mouse makes it away from one of my cats and climbs up my dressing gown.

No, a mouse is not the same as a snake. I think it is obvious that I need to come out to Florida as soon as physically possible and start getting myself accustomed to snakes.

Count your orchids before Kerry arrives, Cin! I don't think your snake police will be a sufficient deterrent against crime!

I've heard that there are no snakes in England..is this true?

(Remember the story of the Pied Piper?)

...I thought that was St. Patrick and Ireland?

Anyway, Cin, you keep posting lovely snake pictures--I'm remembering that gorgeous corn snake a few months back. The problem is (since I'm trying to relocate for winters in your area) that you seem to have more than your share of snakes period! Good thing you're not squeamish about them. I still jump when I see one.
