Default Sandhill Crane Family

When Tami was visiting we were out sightseeing and we came across the local Sandhill Crane family. The youngster is really growing the last time we saw him he was only 8" tall.

They usually lay 2 eggs - often only one will survive.

That was quite a treat, Cin. Glad Darwin got to see the little tyke the next day too. We saw two pair at Myakka River State Parkbutno babies.
We also saw a huge bull gator and some dumbbunny with his little boy down on the riverbank past the warning signs taking closeups. Smile for the camera, big daddy! Sheesh.

Have you heard of the Darwin Awards? I imagine this father would qualify.
