    Default Soda blue

Hey, found the soada blue recipe:

    3110 70g
    Gerstley Borate 50g
    Flint 10g
    Soda Ash 10g
    EPK 5g
    CuCO3 3g

For the non-chemistry folks out there, CuCO3 (Copper Carbonate)...less expensive than Copper Oxide.

Then, another glaze that interacts well with the Soda Blue...

    Apple Green to Smoke Red

    Fritt 3134 90g
    EPK 10g
    SnO2 5g
    MgSO4 (Epsome Salt) 1g
    CuCO3 4g

The reason I like to mix the two, is that if you flash the glaze quickly before quenching, you end up with bright red spots, almost like a candy apple red where the glazes ove-lap...but I do't suggest covering one completly with the other...the glazes aren't quite the same cone temp, you just have to visually watch for a balance in sheen between the two, but before the Apple green to smoke red gets snotty and starts running. Yes, it takes experimentation, but it is fun and the results can be fantastic.

And with teh recipes...don't worry that the end result is over 100 g....
