Can you Raku ??
This is a pic of my bowl that I fired this AM, It is a copy of one that my friend bought for a really really big price. Being into Bonsai I had to do a knock off. I was pleased with the first time attempt.

We actually fire with newspaper. The piece is brought up to 1800 deg and put in a metal can with the paper, covered and left to smolder. It is pretty neat to watch.

That is so lovely. I just can't imaging being so talented. Guess some people have it and I don't!
Does it get a glaze? Just thinking a translucent pale blue glaze would look wonderful.... but what do I know?

very nice!!! I have tries Raku and love the metallic shine I would get. I used to use sawdust or leaves.

Beautiful piece there!
I think leaving it unglazed would be better (or a very non-shiny earthy glaze), I think the earthy/neutral colours will be better for this design. I think it has already been glazed since I see the crackly glaze at the bottom, a good choice. I think a orchid would look nice in it
It's been quite a while since I did pottery work!

You could make a killing designing and making orchid pots and selling them via online auctions, etc.
