    Default Humidity Question

I have been running my humidifiers 24/7 due to history of low humidity. My readings in the AM are about 60-68 after running all night. They quickly drop to 53-57 during the day. My husband is constantly going in and out the door next to where I grow my orchids. Is it hurting them to run humidifiers at night? Thanks for any advice.

I don't think it will hurt them to run it at night. Do you see any signs of fungus? Be sure to spray with an fungicide regularly to be safe. If you have been doing it for awhile and see no problems, you are probably fine.

    Cheers,

    gee, I would love 60 - 68 % as I constantly up at around 80 - 90%.
even today with an outside temp 13C = 55F I have 95% humidity and in the last 12months the lowest I've had is 50%

Thanks guys, for your input. A relief off my mind. I was just thinking, how much humidity orchids get in their natural habit at night. Glad to know I am OK.

You might want to keep a fan on at night to keep the air circulating. This will help prevent fungus.
