Does anyone know what's wrong with this Den. kingianum? The leaves are sorta rough and have this weird white-ish residue on them?

Try wiping the underside of the leaf with a wet paper towel. If it turns reddish-brown, you've got mites.

yep, I reckon mites too... usually these insects like environments which are pretty dry... so maybe try increasing humidity.

Yes, or malathion. But spray and retreat in a week.

It's in a pot with a cattleya back bulb which doesn't show any such signs of discoloration. I wiped the bottom of the leaves and there was no residue of any kind.

It looks like a mite problem to me also BUT they may have done this damamge and gone. Quite often you see this damage long after the attack. BTW, is the growth coming from that cane ??? If it is, that cane is not a Kingie cane and its upside down or did you do that for the pic???

I'm not too familiar with Dends as this is only a cane I received in a trade and it had been separated for a while from whatever it came from.
The cane is a cane about a 75% pencil size in length and has roots on either end, and only those two leaves on one end. I've stuck the end with the roots (without leaves) in the bark and left the other like the top of the plant. Is this right or am I doing something wrong as it hasn't moved much at all since I got it. Heck, it has gotten worse if anything? I'm not even sure which side is up so any help is appreciated.
