Default renanthera and aerides root growth problems

i bought 2 plants one is renanthera and the other aerides both rootless. well the aerides has roots although the roots seems to grow very poorly. i think it just grow an inch... while renanthera i didnt see any root growth. I put them in a fern slab with a little moss. same thing i do to my orchid i water them heavily in the morning with shaded sun. by night they are dry. so its been 3 months no new growth on leaves nor roots. I decided to put them in pots. Guys did i made the right choice? i put them in pots and the other renanthera had black discoloration... it looks dried so i cut it till i get the a live stem then brush of with fungicide. anyway i potted them and filled with charcoal and fern medium. thanks hope i get any infos on this matter. thanks

Hi , My renanthera was like yours , what I did was hang it up bare no pot or mount, shaded .
I would be careful of potting it don't want rot to set in . Mine was very slow to show any growth but did in time . Good luck with them .. Gin
