Two sick phals-BigBox Rescue
Several weeks ago I bought two "baked" phals to rescue from the big box store. I don't know for how long they were out under direct sunlight and almost 100 F... I repoted them and they seemed to have some good roots and new leaves growing. I still can see some good roots but their leaves doesn't look right. Do you think they have a chance? Should I cut the leaves?

If you don't mind the ugly, I would let the leaf come off on its own. That way you do not risk infection from the cut. if you do cut it off, be sure to apply a seal to the cut. The phal in the second photo will probably be fine. It looks like it has two good leaves and only one seriously burned one. The phal in the first photo was really burned. The leaf that is turning yellow at the base will fall off soon. Hopefully that will promote some growth.
Cheers,
BD

I think it will be fine if you drop some superthrive and water them and let it sit in shade area no direct sun for a week or two, well-aired and make sure you're plant are recover then u can put them next to windowsill or outdoor that just my opinion hope you can save them.

Thanks, Darren! I don't know even what they are. I just saw them and I couldn't just go without at least trying to save them. Hope my mission will be successful.

This is an update 2 months later. They are still alive!!! And both are doing fine.
Smaller one looks alot better and she is no longer in the "risk-group".
You can also see the healthy green roots she has now (and she had almost none when I brought her home)

The bigger one is also doing fine, but she is still in the "risk-group" because she still doesn't have a nice looking leaf to proof she is cured! She does have a second leaf growing now, but it has a hole in it, so I am going to wait for the next one!

I don't think I'll see a bloom from this two any time soon, but I am very happy I was able to bring them back to life!

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to see these two patients are responding well to your care.
