Default orchid leaves are turning yellow and dropping off

I am soooo new, I know all of you have experienced this and conquered it. But I need help. My first orchid 18 months ago. I kept it alive and it grew nicely and looked very healthy. It bloomed about a month ago - yea!... but now the leaves are turning yellow and dropping off. The blooms are still fine. What's wrong? Am I going to lose it? ...beck

    Hi Beck,

Welcome to our community. Sometimes orchid leaves do turn yellow and fall off. Especially the bottom ones on a phal (moth) orchid. Can you post a current photo of your orchid and let us take a look. Before offering advice, it is best if we can see the plant.

    Cheers,
    BD

I agree, a picture is invaluable in diagnosing your leaf problem. If they are the bottom leaves it may just be normal loss. Phals lose bottom leaves from time to time as new ones grow up top. But it's tough to know what the problem is without a good pic...

Hi and welcome. Yep--pictures worth a thousand words. If you have lost more than one leaf, you probably have a problem. I'd guess root rot, but without a picture it is hard to give specific help. Post one and you'll get lots of helpful answers.
