Default Strings and strange sticky yellow things in medium

Do any of you recognise these strings and the yellow/orange looking blobs on the piece of bark? Should I be concerned? How can I get rid of it? Does it spread to other plants?

Looks like fungus to me. Where there is rotting wood there will be fungi. Wood fungi shouldn't be a threat to your plants, however, the roots shown in the pic don't look good -- might be keeping the media too wet/lacking sufficient air circulation.

I've given the plant some new bark and more vent holes in the pot. Give it a good rinse and bath too.

Both looks like fungus to me.
Also some concern about the roots, looks like a bit of overwatering.
Advice: new bark an keep a bit more on the dry side.
