    Hi all

My orchid has just started to bloom - I'm very excited. Here are some pics for those who requested them.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. As for what type of plant it is, I'm not really sure apart from the fact that it's a cymbidium orchid.

Thanks kiwiorchids and BD This is the only orchid I have at the moment, but after getting this one to flower, I am considering getting some more!

In my excitement about this plant blooming, I have only just noticed that some of the leaves are starting to go a bit brown and yellow, particularly at the tips, and some of them have little dark brown spots - I have attached some photos showing exactly what they look like.

Does anyone know what this is likely to mean? I haven't been fertilizing the plant at all, as I understand it's better not to feed Cymbidiums when they're flowering, and haven't been watering it as there has been a fair bit of rain recently (It's winter here in Western Australia). It has just been sitting outside on my balcony. The temperatures recently have been about 17-21 degrees C (63-70 F) maximum and about 7-12 degrees C (45-57 F) minimum. The balcony is south-facing, which in Western Australia means that it doesn't get any direct sunlight in winter (the sun comes from the north); it gets indirect light.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this would be much appreciated!
