Talking Northeastern US - Wild Orchids?

So I live in the Northeastern USA, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any wild orchids that grew in this area? The only one I know about is the Cypripedium acaule, and I was wondering if anyone could inform me of any more? I'd love to be able to go out and identify some wild orchids, and maybe try and find some to plant around my house! Thanks!

There are a lot of wild orchids in NE. Call your extension service or do some research/google, you will be amazed what you can find. If I remember it right, we have close to 70 native orchid species in Delaware...

As many of us may have already known, it is illegal to collect wild orchid species (unless you are the landowner?).

The USDA plant database is available online and allows you to search plant families by state. I found the site to be quite entertaining.

Oh don't worry, I wouldn't think of ripping up Orchids and planting them on my land! I do have 14 Acres of land, however, and I would love to walk around and properly identify if there are any orchids growing around in my forest! And maybe but some from a nursery to plant in my garden! Thank you guys for your responses! Looks like I found some sites to look around on!

There are apparently lots of orchids that grow in the Northeast, I've just never seen any in person. You might want to check out this thread:
