    Default Dendrobium not blooming

I bought a Dendrobium three years ago and it was in bloom. It has since lost its flowers and has not rebloomed. I fertilize it with 30-10-10 and have recently repotted it. It seems healthy with a new sprout. I also have a Phalaenopsis that reblooms often. Any information to help it rebloom is helpful. Thank you.

Welcome to the Board. More information needed please. What part of the world are you in. If it is winter where you are, then the Dends. are in rest mode. No fertilizer, hardly any water.

Thank you Rosie. I am in Pittsburgh, PA. It is late November and we will have a rather long and cold Winter.

A picture of the plant would help.

My shot-in-the dark guess would be that the dendrobium needs more light. It take a lot more light to make it bloom than is needed for the phal. If that is the case, a move to better light might reward you this spring or summer (depending on its bloom season or seasons).

As for rest, some dends do need a winter rest, but not all...I have 2 in bloom and a third in spike (then one that I think I may have to dangle over the trash can to inspire it to bloom, but I digress). It would help to know what kind you have. As someone else mentioned, a picture would help.

Nope, nothing here. If you are trying to attach by a link be sure the link ends with .jpg or .gif or .png (an image extension.) If you are uploading to the forum, make sure the photos are no larger than 700 x 700 px and 72 DPI.

    cheers,

I'm guessing more light could be the problem. Dendrobiums prefer brighter light than phal. Also, Ditto to the above it could need a Winter rest like some of my dendros. Maybe I'm wrong but there are many members to help. Good Luck!
