Most of them have been easy to grow and bloom. The more challenging ones are Renanthopsis (very few have been made) and Ren Brookie Chandler, Ren Nancy Chandler. Most renanthera hybrids today are produced here in Malaysia and Singapore, though Thailand is fast catching up. In our equatorial climate we find they do best under 50% shade from 11.00am to late afternoon. Among the most attractive Renanthera hybrids IMHO are Renanopsis Lena Rowold (Ren storei x Vandopsis lissochiloides) and Rnps Cape Sable (Rnps Lena Rowold x storei). There are 2 varieties of Rnps Lena Rowold, the giant variety that bloom a t 5-7 feet; and the dwarf form that bloom at only a foot tall. The latter is made using a dwarf and more warmth tolerant storei.Maybe I have been unfortunate in not being able to get the dwarf variety of storei which was in great demand for hybridising.Currently i have about 10 Renanthera and Ren intergenerics but no storei. For sme perverse reason I still keep a Ren Nancy Chandler x storei that has never bloomed for me during the 15 or more years it has been with me. Most likely it will remain recalcitrant until the day I exit this earth and even beyond that.
i rarely see many offered....Kultana usually has a few that we are able to attain....i admire V.Dr Anek x R.philippinense...there is one in full bloom now ill post pics soon..........i have seen Lena Rowold in full flower...a magnificent sight...the Vandopsis lissochiloides i have seen in my country have to attain remarkabe height and age before they even consider flowering ...a bit too frustrating for me......wow 15 yrs?????? wat do you think is the reason for lack of blooms???

I really don't know. I've tried everything but all it does is produce keikis instead of flowers. Must be genetics. I posted pictures of Rnps Lena Rowold on 03.03.2010 blooming in my brother's garden from a plant I gave him. That is the tall variety. However last year I managed to obtain a dwarf variety from a friend. Hoping to see blooms in a year or two.

Yea, I agree with the other responses it look dehydrated!! I have 1 & now it's quite chilly outside here in Atlanta, so I have in the brightest room in my house but out of direct sunlight in a clay pot with lava rocks in the bottom & orchid bark placed around the roots but not covering them I can stick my finger in between to Chk for water & even in the winter it seems to need watering every 2-3 days I guess cause of less humidity & warm temps but it's my 1st of its kind but it's very healthy thank god I'll try to take a pic & post but it's a nice plant with a spike about 1 1/2 ft long nice tho! My guess is it wasn't exposed to as much light as u have now & needs to acclimate & not enuff water! Had mines in direct sun & it looked like it started to decline somewhat so I hurry up & moved it!! 😃😃 but so far so gud!! Gud luck
