    Default Plant Identification

I hope someone can help me. I'm attaching a photo of a tropical plant that was put out to the curb by someone down the street. It was a beautiful foliage plant for a couple of years and we put it outside this spring. I noticed the other day that it's got buds that are ready to open as flowers. Does anyone know what this plant is? Thanks.

I'll third that motion...Clivea. In fact I've been trying to figure out where mine are. When I moved here I had two huge pots of them and now I can't find them. Hmm...

Clivia is the correct identification, and spelling. Probably Clivia miniata as most cultivated plants are that species, but could be a hybrid.

The foliage of this plant seems familiar to me. I would love to see the flowers when they open.
Does anyone know of a "common name" for it?.

Angela, I've never heard of a common name for it. Everyone around here just calls it Clivia.
I did a quick google search and found the names Kaffir lily and Bush lily. Just look online to see pics of the flowers.

Default Thanks to all who helped with my plant ID question

    Hello All,
I thank all of those who responded to my tropical plant ID question, even though the plant was not an orchid. It was a Clivia. I'm sending you all a photo of the beautiful blooms on the plant. Thanks again!
