    Default sedirea japonica

I've ordered my second Sedirea japonica after killing my first. It was in bad shape from purchase however with rotten roots I didn't discover until repotting it. Any advice on culture? I was going to put it in a small teak basket or try and mount on a tree fern plaque I grow outdoors 9 months indoors three.

Check your roots as soon as you can and get them in the proper medium.

Cody, to mount on a tree fern or bork is agood idea. I gues in New Orleans, you can keep your plant outside, for the whole year. As the name say, this spec. is growing in Japan, but also in South-Korea and China, can also bear a low temperature. Ad a little bit moos around the roots, is OK, but not to much. The roots requiered fresh air.

Hi Cody, I have had mine fore about (4) years or more. It was originally potted and I had repotted in a bark mix that I use for my Phals.
It didn't do well at all so I mounted it. It has done well since however it is yet to bloom, it developed a spike last year only to lose it to bud
blast or what ever. Very discouraging, seems like a very healthy plant though, I grow under lights in winter and outside during the summer.
    GOOD LUCK Hank.....
