I realize that it is part of the natural growth cycle for the back bulbs to dehydrate and wither away in support of this years growth and blooming. Is there anything I can do to minimize loss of those bulbs?

    Hi Bob,

from what i understand, there is n't much to change their natural behavior of old pseudo bulbs dehydrating and giving way for new bulbs to take over and help in less competition for food and space in the wild.

    Hey Bob,

That is what happens so the new growth can grow and bloom. Cycle of the plant.
