If cultured well it will bloom for you. Many orchids bloom once a year, so 5 months without blooms in not out of the norm. What type of Dendrobium do you have and how are you culturing it?
Usually, after they finish blooming, they go through a growth period where they grow a new cane. Once that cane matures it will bloom again.
    Growing orchids require patience.

What is the size of the Dend? and what is the ID?. Some of the dendrobium are highland and bloom only in high altitudes. if it is a hybrid give it enough light and certainly would bloom
