I rescued one a couple weeks ago at ---- Vendor information removed - see FAQs on Posting ----. Same thing, the ones they had left over after Mother's Day had been crammed together out in the garden center and all looked terrible! I bought one, marked 16.88 for 8!
Had a lot of rot so I cleaned it up and potted in bark mix!

Good for you!! I think it's beautiful!

I'm fond of white Phals. I had the one in my avatar for 35+ years, I used it in my wedding flowers. I lost it a couple of years back, but now I have another white Phal, much like the one in your post, to replace it. Maybe I will only have one, but I sure like having it! Mine is labelled Phal. Sogo Yukatian, it is a very popular orchid. The picture is from its early bloom, it gets more and more white as it is open longer. Mine is also a rescue, so glad it was labeled! Yours might well be the same one.

I have a white Catt too, but it hasn't bloomed yet. Just waiting, its close.

Hi Carol, 35 years! You must have been terribly attached to it. Did it bloom often? Thank you for the name information.

Your new one does look very much the same, if not identical. Unfortunately my blooms died off soon after getting it home and I wish I'd measured the span of the flowers. Exquisite mouth and lower lip, the center has spider legs like mine too.

My wife brought home a new one today. I think it's a mini-phal. Not expensive, but very pretty and seemingly healthy, but no name label.

Yes, that's one of the mini Phals that I've seen. I think my daughter bought one just like it last fall. Hers is a happy and vigorous plant, you should enjoy that one.

That's great! I suspected it was a mini-
It's got roots growing out of the side of pot thru really small holes. They're actually dying from strangulation... but the rest of it seems really happy and healthy.
When it's finished blooming I'll see it gets a pot with larger holes or wide slits.

And Harvey - we know you only like bright colors and more form on your flowers!

That was a lovely bloom Terry and Carol. Carol you would love the local plant center by me as 99% of what they carry are white phals both mini and regular. I'm assuming the owners(3rd generation now) must have a thing for white phals.

Thanks Traci, got your private message. Will respond ASAP. Harvey and I are kibitzing right now -

Carol, I just realized you had a white orchid for an avatar for 35 years... not a white orchid for 35 years! What a dolt, eh? That would be a trick wouldn't it?

Have faith with the white orchid, as white in orchids make the strongest plants (from my short, but 'intense' experience...). Esp. white Phalaenopsis are superior in vigour to other colours.
