Default Is this cymbidium orchid still alive?

    Hi!
I got this cymbidium from my teacher earlier. She had divided her cymbidium and gave this to me. This is my very first cymbidium and I am totally clueless on how to take care of it. I wasn't able to ask my teacher anything because she took off before I got to ask her.

In short, I turn to you for help.

Is this cymbidium still alive? Are the roots dead?

Can I still salvage this cymbidium? What are the things I can do to make it grow healthy?

I think it should be salvageable.
Looks like you need to encourage some new roots. Kelp Max is good for that. Perhaps a nice humid environment too.

Yes. Concur with Harvey. Looks salvageable. I am told potting in horse manure and top dressing with regular potting mix is best for Cymbidiums but I am yet to try it.

Thank you very much! I am not sure if Kelp Max is available in our place but I will do my best salvaging this plant.

I think most Kelp products would do much the same.
