Of course, that means not buying any! And for me, that is hard to do but I am mostly staying strong.
Too bad! I was going to see if either of you were interested in trading! I have a few that I am just not that into, not my style/color/etc. I'm also going to be dividing my Emerald Queen & Greenwich Elmhurst soon

Send me a PM with what you want to trade. Be warned, I am not into catts at this point.

Compost pile??? Noooooo don't say such a thing! And here I am strongly contemplating trying to rescue a Phal that lost its top to crown rot because I can see two fat roots yet... I swear the corpses sit around here for days or even weeks while I manage to bring myself to admit defeat. lol

I know you can be strong! Let the suckers die and get your life back! Or something like that...

Ha! That's good because I don't want to give up any of my catts right now! I have a few oncs & a vanda I wouldn't mind parting with though.... if that's up your alley, I will PM you with specifics!

Carol, you can save it! I wouldn't let anything go either! It's pretty easy to save a phal (usually) and it's so satisfying when they come back strong and happy! SAVE THE PHAL! SAVE THE PHAL!

I had to say goodbye to my Psygmorchis pusilla today.

All it ever did for me was bloom. It never grew anything else. Then despite my daily care and ample water, it dried up anyway.

Oh, that's sad... on the good side, at least you got to enjoy it blooming!

My NOID Phal was gotten out of bloom off of Craigslist, so I won't be totally bummed if I can't save it. I do intend to give it a bit of a run to see what happens. I'll get more little orchids when my big old Rainbow fish dies and the 55 gal fish tank becomes available for orchids. That should help me with more difficult plants. I'm not in any hurry, but it was all my daughter's deal and she moved to MI a year or so ago.

Oh, I have sent so many to the compost pile over the years.... usually trying to save something and making it worse!

Oh, I never do that! LOL Of course I've done that many times. I've learned a bit slowly over the years though.

I have a phal that is not quite fully in bloom (has a couple more buds to open) that was a rescue. I know that it was a rescue because it is white and I don't buy white phals if I know it is white.

As soon as the last buds open, I'll post her.

I don't care for white ones either, unless they have something really special going on! Colorful details or something like that~

I was going to post some inspiration earlier! Here are a few of my 'rescues'

I'm so proud of this guy, he had no roots when I got to him. One of the mini's from the supermarket that had completely rotted out!

    he's a madman!

    Some others

No roots and like 1 leaf

    This is Mr. Hat...lol

This guy just dropped his 2 bottom leaves and this top leaf looks like it's ready to jump out of the pot! It started standing up like that after I fed it some maxicrop seaweed!
