I got lost here somewhere. Neofinetia is a species orchid. The orchid in question is a vanda/phal cross.

Or, maybe they changed the name from Neofinetia falcata to Vanda falcata.

Neofinetia has been reclassified as a Vanda. Someone asked about the leaf shape and I responded with the Neofinetia info on shapes of Neo leaves.

Not sure how they all translate but this is the recognized list of leaf shape.

    One is 'bean' shape
    another is 'pine needle' shape.
That's very informative. I googled them. Now I have a suspicion whether this is actually a Vandaenopsis hybrid or a victim of mislabelled Neo. So, I guess we will figure it out the day it blooms.

Neofinetia falcata = Vanda falcata. Sedirea japonica = Phalaenopsis japonica (at least for hybrid registration purposes). This hybrid is correctly identified as Vandaenopsis Summer Stars by current registration standards, but it was originally registered as Neosedirea Summer Stars. It is far from being a typical Vandaenopsis - don't treat it like one, needs cooler temps, brighter light. Treat it like Sedirea japonica to start, but increase the light slowly to Neofinetia levels unless is starts to show light stress. Care for both of those species should be easily found.
